Hello everyone! I wanted to post something a little more lighthearted and fun today, especially in the spirit of one of my favorite months! This winter tag originated from Kimberley Sarah and is like five years old, haha, but that’s kind of what was appealing about it… that it’s lasted online for five years! I also really liked the questions.
I was also inspired to create my own winter tag, so feel free to check that out too if you like these types of posts!
Winter Tag 2018
What are your favourite things about Winter?
This might sound a little strange, but I love how winter feels, emotionally. There’s just a certain type of feeling you get when the temperatures start dropping and businesses put holiday lights up everywhere. I also actually like when it gets darker earlier… I’m not even entirely sure why, I’ve just always been that way.
What is your favourite Winter outfit?
A cute sweater and some skinny jeans with booties! Or converse. I live in Tennessee, and the weather isn’t always cold enough for sweaters. So I JUMP at the chance to wear a sweater!
What is your favourite Winter food?
I’m super traditional when it comes to this and am happy with the classic turkey and dressing.
Favourite Winter drink?
If it’s not Starbucks, give me peppermint everything. If it IS Starbucks, snickerdoodle hot chocolate ONLY.
What is your dream way to spend a Winter’s day?
Sitting at home with my boyfriend next to me and my cat curled up in my lap. I am drinking hot chocolate and watching the snow fall outside. The room is dimly lit and cozy, and we can smell the cookies we are baking from the oven. swoon
How do you like to do your make-up in the Winter?
I definitely go for darker shades and more glitter in the winter! I am all about super dramatic looks at this time of year. I’ve also noticed I have a tendency to gravitate towards dark earthy tones for winter as well!
What are you hoping Santa brings you?
Hmm… I don’t really want that much! I just want a few small things, like hair products and a page-a-day calendar!
What are the first three things that remind you of Winter?
When the temperature starts to drop, the transition from Halloween to Thanksgiving, and when businesses start decorating for the holidays!
What is your favourite Winter song?
I have SO MANY! This is a very serious topic for me. I actually have a blog post planned about this, but I think it’s currently a tie between Shania Twain and Michael Buble’s White Christmas and the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra’s version of Sleigh Ride.
What is your favourite Winter memory?
I’ve experienced one white Christmas in my life, in 2010… and by white Christmas I mean it snowed like an inch and a half on Christmas morning… but it was nice to have in the south… for once. That year we celebrated Christmas at my parents’ house instead of my grandpa’s house. I’m not even sure why we did that, but we did. It was a nice change.
When I was little, I remember loving listening to radio stations that played Christmas music constantly starting on Christmas Eve or the day before, which really helped get me in the spirit. On Christmas morning, I would get a few small gifts from my parents, and then we would make the “long” (it was really only about 45 minutes, but to child me that was ages) drive to my grandparents’ house to get the bigger gifts.
What is your favourite Winter scent?
It’s the Winter fragrance from Bath and Body Works. The fragrance description is “pine needles, sparkling clementine, spiced cloves.”
I’ve been obsessed with this scent for the past three years or so. I think I have repurchased the three-wick candle at least four times. I even bought one for my mom. I also stock up on the wallflower fragrances of these as well and put them in my bedroom and bathroom. I like a lot of winter scents, but this one is my all-time FAVE.
Finish this sentence… If I could have one wish this Christmas it would be…
For everyone who puts good into the world to be safe and happy.
